High potentials may be lurking anywhere in your organization – in any role, business unit/department or position. How do you identify who they are? This post will provide you some tips for identifying high potentials.
Look for individuals who:
- Are flexible – will help out wherever they are needed.
- Are strong team players.
- Solve problems rather than create them.
- Eagerly take on new responsibilities and new projects.
- Take on leadership roles on teams and projects.
- Continuously develop their skills and build their knowledge.
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Are collaborative.
- Manage conflicts well.
- Have the ability to influence others.
- Mentor others.
- Willingly share their knowledge.
- Are creative in how they approach problems.
- Are interested in understanding the company culture.
- Are passionate about every task they take on.
- Look for new and better ways things to accomplish things.
- Handle conflicts well.
- Manage others effectively.
